This was another rain soaked wedding day! But we were lucky enough that the rain provided a moody atmosphere and enough clouds for some sunset photos on the Main Western Road lookout.
Bride prep was at a private location on Mt Tamborine, surrounded by bush with a creek in the background and a kookaburra sitting outside the bedroom. Di, from Di’s Hair Design did Kate’s hair, and her make-up was by Sueellen Bayly from Bayly Allure. Her elegant dress was from Ferrari Formal.
The wedding itself was held at the historic and scenic St Bernard’s Hotel. Kerri Watkins officiated the ceremony with warmth and humour. The original plan was for an outside wedding on the lawn area overlooking the mountains. But the rain meant the wedding was moved indoors to the reception venue.
This venue is a giant white tent, providing brilliant clear light for photography; and the ceremony end of the tent opens out onto a magnificent backdrop of mountains.
We took advantage of a break in the rain to take some location photos at a nearby lookout, returning to take a photos of the stylish reception before leaving. For another Gold Coast hinterland wedding, please check out this wedding at Ruffles or this wedding at Heritage Wines.
