Karina and Tom’s Northshore Harbour wedding was the fairy-tale wedding so many of us dream about…apart from the flooding rain! But even the rain had its benefits, generating dark and mood atmospheric photos; and creating magical reflections for the couple’s outdoors bridal waltz.
Karina and Tom both got ready in the luxurious Stamford Plaza. Tom was ably assisted by his groom’s party. Although given that the session finished with a full-on pillow fight, their assistance was something of a mixed effort.
Karina got ready with her bridesmaids and flower-girl. The bridal party wore burgundy – a brilliant, warm colour which was the perfect antidote to the fog, low clouds and rain. Karina’s dress was a flowing froth of white with champagne flush undertones.
The couple chose to have their “first look” before the ceremony. And they used the grand staircase at the Stamford Plaza for this purpose. Their “first look” was watched with silent awe by a small group of children at the top of the stairs.
From the Stamford, the couple travelled separately to the Northshore Harbour cafe for the ceremony. The bridal party arrived in the understated elegance of a classic Jaguar. The ceremony took place under cover in a room overlooking the Northshore Harbour park and jetty.
Location photos were taken at the Stamford and at Northshore Harbour.
The reception was also held at Northshore Harbour. Despite the light rain, Karina and Tom still had their first dance outside the venue on the festoon-lit flagstone pavers. And the rain created a perfect setting for this magical dance, glittering on the festoon lights and adding beautiful, reflective counter-points from the rain puddles.
It was such a special day of elegant beauty, emotion and romance. For another example of a Brisbane city wedding, have a look at this wedding at Dockside Landing or this wedding at Lightspace.
