We love photographing country weddings! And Karla and Jaiden’s wedding at the Samsonvale Hall in Brisbane’s Somerset Valley shows exactly why we love them so much!
It was authentic, emotional, down-to-earth, with beautiful DIY elements and a labour of love from family and friends. The wedding was a masterpiece of DIY components, most of them made by Karla herself.
Before going to Clear Mountain resort where Karla and her bridal party were getting ready, we stopped at the Samsonvale Hall. At the Hall, family and friends were busy preparing the Hall with carefully crafted DIY decorations. There were some amazing elements, with one of the most spectacular being a beautifully decorated triple window which had photos of loved ones, key dates and events for the couple and listed the major players in their wedding.
Karla’s dress, supplied by Dresses by Yvonne, was stunning. It was blush pink and glittered with sparkles, and perfectly matched the beautiful heirloom pearls worn by the bride.
Following bride prep, we met up with the groom’s party at the Samsonvale Hall. The beautiful and emotive ceremony was held under a giant fig tree outside the Hall and flawlessly orchestrated by the marriage celebrant Renee Wilkins.
Following the ceremony, we took couple and wedding party photos around the Hall. This process was greatly facilitated by the wedding party who really knew how to enjoy and get the most from a wedding!
And then it was time for the reception. The reception was a blast from beginning to end – with the highlight being the bouquet toss. There were some serious competitors for the bouquet and some sore knees from the final scrum when the catch got taken to the ground.
