Matt and Ashley had very clear ideas about their wedding. It was first and foremost a celebration with family and friends. Their baby son, Oliver, was their ring-bearer (with his uncle’s assistance!), the celebrant a friend from Tasmania.
Secondly, their wedding would reflect their individual styles and creativity. As a result, the backyard ceremony location was decorated with beautiful, detailed hand-crafted items.
Lastly, their wedding was to be memorable. So many elements were brought together to guarantee this outcome. There were the fabulous DIY elements for the ceremony and reception, the dramatic dip as they exchanged their first kiss as husband and wife, the fantastic location they scouted for their sunset location photos and the breath-taking choreographed and awesomely skilled first dance as husband and wife.
The day started with groom prep, followed by bride prep at two locations. Bride prep commenced at a local hair-dressing salon (wonderful space) and finished at the family home.
From the pre-wedding preparations, we moved to the ceremony location which was the backyard of a beautiful North Brisbane rural property. The reception was also held here and magically illuminated at night with twinkle lights.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party headed off in style to a local State park for some amazing mountain sunset photos. While the clear skies meant there were no concerns about the outdoor ceremony being rained out, a few clouds would have been nice for the evening sunset!
It was a fabulous wedding, and truly memorable. It was lovely to see that the couple who invested so much time, effort and planning were able to achieve such a wonderful and enjoyable wedding.
